Mustang

I was born on the run
Eyes drawn to the horizon
I tried but never could
Be satisfied with something good

Asphalt runways
And blacktop dreams
I'm chasing freedom
Like it's my destiny

I'm pushing 90 in my mustang
So fast the past can't catch
Up to me

I'm cruising louder in my mustang
I can't hear you when you
Call for me

Let's go faster, faster, faster
Make it louder, louder, louder
Mustang

I've got ghosts in the back seat
Watching from the rear view
Their eyes wander impatiently
We've all been here before

I've got baggage in the trunk
The weight wears on the treads
Loaded cargo bound to me
Slowing me unconsciously

Phantom headlights
They flash quickly
I'm chasing distance
Like it's meant for me

I'm pushing 90 in my mustang
So fast the past can't catch
Up to me

I'm cruising louder in my mustang
I can't hear you when you
Scream for me

Take me faster, faster, faster
Take me further, further
Mustang

Faster, faster, faster
Further, further
Mustang

So fast the past can't
Catch up to me

Faster, faster
(Can't catch me)

Further, further
(Can't catch me)

I was born on the run
(Can't catch me)

I tried but never could
(Can't catch me)

Be satisfied
With something good

I was born on the run
