Gravity

When the apple falls
Does it fall far from the tree?
I trace the path before it lands
Like it was waiting there for me

I’m not running, I’m just rolling
Down the mountain my father made for me
Every angle feels familiar
Every outcome feels complete

I can see the pattern forming
Before I feel it carry me

My life is pulled by gravity
The blood inside my veins
Every path turns back
To arrive at where it came
My freedom carries weight
That every fall obeys

Gravity
Gravity
Gravity

My father’s plane soars behind my eyes
And guides my hands as it flies
His instincts live inside of mine
They follow me across space and time

Do I move the crosshair with precision
Because of mine, or my father’s decision?
Hands learn faster than the mind
When the skill is passed down by design

I can see the force in motion
Even as it carries me

My life is pulled by gravity
The blood inside my veins
Every path turns back
To arrive at where it came
My freedom carries weight
That every fall obeys

Gravity
Gravity
Gravity

I felt lighter in your orbit
For a moment I believed
Love could bend the math enough
To let me finally leave

But mass collects around the past
No matter how I try
I break the surface, taste the air
Then I descend again

My story’s told by gravity
The script inside my veins
Every choice turns back
To arrive at where it came
My freedom carries weight
That every fall obeys

Gravity
Gravity
